Frank “El Medico” Rodriguez is a three-time Grammy Nominated and Certified Triple Platinum Engineer and Producer. He works as a full-time Instructor with certifications in ProTools and Ableton. His curriculums includes courses in Surround Sound, Sound-To-Picture, SSL and Icon large-format consoles. He devotes time to mentoring, consulting, and panel appearances including the local chapter of The Grammy Foundation.
Aside from his full-time position, Frank “El Medico” works freelance in Sound Design and Post Production. His projects for Multimedia company Elastic People include artists such as Daddy Yankee, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Alexis y Fido, Don Omar, Lucero, Temerarios, Carlos Vives, Mana, Wisin and Yandel, Yandel’s solo project, Maluma, Ricardo Arjona, Natalia Jimenez, and Univision’s new show, La Banda (Simon Cowell and Ricky Martin).
In 2007, Frank “El Medico” earned his first Latin Grammy and Grammy nomination as an engineer on Daddy Yankee’s Triple Platinum album titled El Cartel: The Big Boss and has worked with artists such as Don Omar, Wisin Y Yandel, Tego Calderón, Angel y Khriz, Gocho, Voltio, Notch, and many more. His 2nd Latin Grammy was in 2008 for his work with Miami Latin Fusion Band, Locos Por Juana and their album titled La Verdad. In 2010, Frank “El Medico” received his third Latin Grammy nomination credit for his work on Juan Luis Guerra’s Latin Grammy winning album, A Son de Guerra; an honor and career highlight for Dominican born Frank “El Medico”.
He has since expanded his work in a variety of genres alongside Mexican music producer, Toy Selectah (Control Machete) on several projects, including work with Calle 13, 3Ball MTY, and local artists in Colombia and the Dominican Republic. Frank “El Medico” has made a name for himself in parts of Mexico and Latin America working as an engineer and producer with artists such as Kinky The Band, She’s A Tease, Milkman, Niña Dioz, Morenito de Fuego, and many others. His recent completed projects include Cuban artist Diana Fuentes’ album Planeta Planetario, produced by Calle 13's Visitante, Mexican Artist Milkman, and work for Raul y Mexia (Mexico), Freaky Collectivo, Alkilados, and Choquibtown (Colombia), and Kali Mutsa (Chile). From Trinidad; Producer Kubiyashi, Artist Skinny Fabulous and Machel Montano. From Spain, Rapper Tremendo’s album titled Lapsus. He worked with Toy Selectah and Camilo Lara (Mexican Institute of Sound) on their project for Red Bull Studios titled Compass album, which was recorded in numerous locations such as, New York, L.A., London, and Brazil and includes a global collaboration of 80+ artists from numerous genres.
His recent engineering and mastering work in the genre of Electronic Music includes a worldwide list of clientele including DJ Craze and his label Slow Roast, Lazerdisk, Audrey Napoleon, Buraka (Portugal) and Kygo (Norway). From Australia; Hermitude and Alison Wonderland, and from Germany; Boys Noize. Ongoing projects for Mad Decent include artists Major Lazer, Munchi, Blaqstarr, and Diplo; including Diplo’s EP’s Express Yourself and Revolution.
2015 has marked a new milestone for Frank “El Medico” with the introduction of his new Record Label, La Clinica. An opportunity to put his experience and skill to work in favor of releasing otherwise unknown artists and tracks. La Clinica will specialize in mixing mastering and digital distribution of +Trap +Moombahton +Reggae +Dancehall +EDM +Dubstep and basically all Bass heavy tracks, Miami Bass and Booty Music.
