Music Expo Partners with SoundGirls

The Present is Female and Music Expo wants to help spread that message. If you’ve been to a Music Expo before, you’ve come across SoundGirls. The ladies behind the organization have contributed to each event as exhibitors, speakers, panelists and volunteers. For 2019, we’ve decided to make our partnership with SoundGirls official.

If you’re unfamiliar with SoundGirls, we invite you to check them out. This organization works to support women working in professional audio and music production by highlighting their success and providing a place for them to connect, network, and share advice and experiences. Don’t let the name deter you, SoundGirls is not an exclusive organization- Volunteers may be women, men or non-binary members.

Most recently, SoundGirls and Spotify have unveiled the EQL Directory. This directory is a global database of professionals that seeks to amplify the careers and achievements of women working behind the scenes in music and audio. Any person around the world can add their name and claim their space. And, any person looking to hire a more inclusive creative team can find professionals in their area.

For Music Expo, SoundGirls will be staffing our AV teams for each event. It is our goal to have our AV needs completely staffed by SoundGirls volunteers!

We want to hear from you! If you’re a woman in music or you support equality in the music industry, sound off below!
