Head of Pop and R&B Programming, Pandora Media
Tiana Lewis is the Head of Pop and R&B Programming at Pandora Media. As a curator, Tiana is responsible for editorial curation and programming across hundreds of genre stations and playlists.
Tiana constantly has her ear to the ground and introduces Pandora users to new artists/music while making sure all of their faves are right where they’re expected to be! Additionally, Tiana works hand in hand with internal teams and the music industry to showcase artists on and off of the platform.
Her career in the music industry began after a series of internships throughout Warner Music Group and graduating Fordham University when she was offered a role at Atlantic Records as an Executive Assistant in International Marketing and Promotions where she would work on breaking global superstars such as Bruno Mars, Janelle Monáe and Wiz Khalifa internationally.
About a year later, Tiana was offered a Tour Coordinator position with renowned music manager, David Sonenberg (Lauryn Hill, The Black Eyed Peas, Ke$ha) at DAS Communications. For the next 2 years, she routed tours, was knee-deep in all things Vans Warped Tour, oversaw budgets, ideated and delivered marketing plans and executed all aspects of on the ground activations for various sponsors.
In 2013, she transitioned into the music agency side of the industry and accepted a role at Creative Artists Agency (Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Cardi B) where she oversaw all contracts for artist deals out of the NYC office. In 2014, she was tapped by Viacom Media Networks and would go on to work in Music Talent, Programming & Partnerships at MTV and BET. While there, she oversaw programming for MTV Hits, worked on BET Jams, and acted as a talent rep for the VMAs, VH1’s Hip Hop Honors, BET Awards amongst other productions. While at MTV, (and later BET) she was an integral team member in partnerships between MTV/BET and Spotify, SoundCloud and Vevo.
